Reynolds and Reyner – Liverpool Pub Identity
While Reynolds and Reyner worked on the Liverpool Pub project it was very important to them to show a connection between the brand and traditional England, and more specifically Liverpool. The Ukrainian agency started with research into the history and key elements of the town’s name and logo.
Alexander Andreyev (R&R):
The symbol of Liverpool is The Liver Bird. This bird is like legendary Phoenix and Sirin birds – there were no such a thing in real life, however, scientists still argue what kind of extinct birds could be its prototype. By itself Liver is a symbol not only of Liverpool town, it’s also the basis of the football club logo. The second part of the city’s name means the water because the city is located near the sea».
Artyom Kulik (R&R):
After analysis stage we’ve found three main elements that needed to be combined into a logo: The Liver Bird, the sea and the heraldic style used in Britain during the birth of Liverpool. These elements have become the basis for the logo and identity of the brand.
