Robert Montgomery’s Typographic Billboard
Robert Montgomery’s weapons of choice are typography and language; administered to the viewer in equal measures. His series of billboards (both illuminated and non-illuminated) often employ poetic, reassuring, empathetic verses that connect with the reader in a far deeper than the usual billboard advertising that they replace. Montgomery’s work occasionally strays into open rallying against advertising’s images of false beauty, whilst delivering the message in the most simple, beautiful way.
